Ms. Keri – toddler Assistant

Ms. Keri brings a joyful, steady presence to our toddler community, where her favorite moments are the ones filled with wide-eyed discovery. Whether it’s a child spotting something new in the garden or proudly mastering a task on their own, she loves watching their faces light up with pure, uncomplicated excitement. Those tiny triumphs—and the relationships built along the way—are the heart of her work.

Before finding her way to Montessori, Ms. Keri spent years teaching in public schools in Illinois and Virginia, where the pressure of test scores never quite aligned with her belief that education should never be one-size-fits-all. Montessori’s student-centered approach felt like the home she had always been searching for. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education with special education endorsements and has taught Preschool, Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and even served as a reading interventionist.

The toddler environment has always held a special place in her heart. Returning to this age group reminded her just how much adults can learn from young children—how they invite us to slow down, notice more, practice patience, shift perspective, and remember what truly matters. Working with toddlers keeps her grounded, inspired, and laughing daily. (“Kids are unintentionally hilarious,” she says—and we agree.)

Outside the classroom, you’ll likely find Ms. Keri traveling with her husband to visit family and friends or exploring somewhere new just for the joy of it. She loves staying active, especially outdoors, and unwinding with books, movies, and her very cuddly cat. A couple of fun surprises about her: she once rode an alligator in 2nd grade (yes, really!), and she can still walk on her hands thanks to her gymnastics days.

At the core of her teaching philosophy is a simple belief: it’s always about the child. She is committed to meeting students exactly where they are, honoring their individual needs, and trying new approaches until something clicks. Being part of a child’s early learning journey—and helping them feel seen, supported, and celebrated—is her “why.”

We are so grateful for the warmth, insight, and wholehearted care Ms. Keri brings to our community.
