Miss NATALIE – ROVING ASSISTANT

Miss Natalie serves as the Roving Assistant at Montessori Children’s School, a role she loves for the rare opportunity it gives her to work with every child and every classroom. Moving throughout the school each day allows her to experience the full range of Montessori environments, and she considers it a privilege to support so many students as they learn and grow.

Her path to MCS began with a series of roles that shaped her passion for working with children. She first discovered this calling while working in a children’s psychiatric hospital, where she was inspired by the resilience and strength of the young people she supported. She later nannied for two young boys and then transitioned into a daycare setting with toddlers ages 1–3. Each experience strengthened her commitment to early childhood and helped her realize that working with children was the place where she felt most fulfilled.

At MCS, the Montessori approach has felt like a natural extension of everything she values. She loves how the method invites children to follow their interests, make choices, explore nature, and develop a genuine love of learning. Watching students build confidence, learn new skills, and express their unique personalities brings her joy each day and reinforces her belief that this is exactly the work she is meant to be doing.

Outside of school, Miss Natalie enjoys spending time with her two dogs and her cat—animals she adores and would happily collect more of if she could. She grew up in Westlake and returned to the area after living along the Tennessee–Virginia border for several years. While she loved the mountain views, she is grateful to be back home and close to the community she missed.

For Miss Natalie, the best part of MCS is the kindness that surrounds her—the children, the staff, and the families. Their warmth has made her feel welcome from her very first day, and she is honored to support the students of MCS as they grow, discover, and shine.
