Mr. Lawrence – Property & Maintenance Manager

Lawrence Kuh, a long-time Bay Village resident, is a dedicated member of the Montessori Children’s School board, bringing with him a wealth of experience in education, outdoor recreation, and community development. Married to Jennifer and a proud dad of three girls, Lawrence’s love for family and the outdoors inspires everything he does.

A retired teacher with 25 years in the Bay Village School District, Lawrence holds dual master’s degrees in K-8 and Special Education. He spent most of his teaching career shaping young minds in mathematics for grades 5-8, earning accolades such as Ohio Teacher of the Year in Mathematics and being part of a team recognized for Interdisciplinary Teaching Excellence.

Now an Outdoor Recreation Specialist for the Cleveland Metroparks, Lawrence shares his passion for adventure with children and adults alike, teaching sailing, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, and more. His role reflects his belief in the power of hands-on experiences to inspire growth, confidence, and connection.

Lawrence’s community contributions are just as impressive. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award for leading the Bay Village Bike to School Challenge for over 15 years and was named Bay Village Citizen of the Year for his leadership in the Bay Skate & Bike Park Foundation. His vision and hard work brought the skatepark to life, and he also played a key role in developing the Bay Village Bicycle Cooperative and the Cahoon Creek Disc Golf Course.

At MCS, Lawrence is a guiding force behind campus improvements and outdoor initiatives. His dedication to education, love for the outdoors, and commitment to community make him an invaluable member of the MCS family.
